  • The applicant must be an Ex-Serviceman or a Commissioned Officer, including Emergency Commissioned Officers (ECOs) and Short Service Commissioned Officers (SSCOs).
  • The candidate should have completed at least 5 years of military service.
  • The candidate must have been released after completing the assigned service or should be due for release within one year from the last date of application.
  • The discharge should not be on account of misconduct, inefficiency, or physical disability attributable to military service.
  • Candidates who have already secured employment in a civil government post by availing the Ex-Servicemen concession cannot claim the benefit of Ex-Serviceman status again for future government recruitment.
  • There is no reservation for Ex-Servicemen in the Officers’ Cadre. Only the prescribed age relaxation is applicable.

Age Relaxation for Persons Affected by 1984 Riots

Candidates affected by the 1984 Riots are also eligible for 5 years of relaxation in the upper age limit.

To avail this benefit, candidates must submit a certificate issued by the District Magistrate (DM) confirming that they are eligible for relief under the Government-approved Rehabilitation Package for Persons Affected by the 1984 Riots.

Important Note

If the maximum age limit prescribed for a particular post is 30 years, eligible candidates under the Ex-Servicemen and Persons Affected by 1984 Riots categories can apply up to 35 years of age after availing the applicable age relaxation.

The age relaxation available to these categories may also be combined with the relaxation applicable to SC, ST, and OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates, wherever permitted under the provisions of the official notification.
