Stipend
Stipend will be paid as per the Apprentices Act, 1961 and Apprentices Rules, 1992 (as amended). In addition, apprentices will get Rs.2,500/- per month towards miscellaneous expenses from IOCL (MD), Northern Region.
- For Graduate and Technician Apprentices: a portion of the stipend is directly transferred to the apprentice’s bank account by the Board of Apprenticeship Training (BOAT) under the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) scheme. An Aadhaar-seeded, DBT-enabled bank account is essential.
- For Trade Apprentices (NAPS): the full stipend is paid directly by IOCL (MD), Northern Region.

Period of Training
12 Months for all disciplines. On completion, IOCL has NO obligation to offer regular employment, and apprentices cannot claim employment rights on the basis of completing the apprenticeship.

Selection Process
- There is NO written test or interview.
- A merit list is prepared based on the percentage of marks secured in the prescribed qualification, among candidates registered on the NAPS/NATS portal and meeting eligibility criteria.
- In case of a tie, the candidate with an earlier date of birth (older) is preferred; if still tied, higher marks in Matriculation are considered.
- Preference is given to candidates applying for apprenticeship for the first time.
- Shortlisted candidates are called for Document Verification and a Pre-engagement Medical Fitness Test.
- Candidates clearing document verification and medical fitness are issued an Offer of Engagement. Up to Rs.3,000/- is reimbursed for pre-engagement medical test expenses on producing receipts.

- Latest Caste Certificate (for reserved category candidates), in prescribed proforma

- Certificate from Institute confirming regular mode of study and year of passing
- Semester-wise/Year-wise mark sheets of ITI/HSC/Graduation/Diploma
- Final ITI Certificate/HSC/Graduation/Diploma Certificate
- Copy of Bank Passbook first page (Aadhaar-seeded account), Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, cancelled cheque leaf

- Active e-mail ID and Mobile Number, valid for at least 1 year

- Active Bank Account with Cheque Book (name printed), Aadhaar-seeded and DBT-enabled
- APAAR ID and e-KYC verification updated on NATS portal
