1. Overview

The Centre for Management Development (CMD), Thiruvananthapuram, on behalf of the Directorate of Tourism, Government of Kerala, has invited online applications for the position of Green Marshal on a daily wage basis for a period of one year, vide Notification No. CMD/DoT/01/2026 dated 05 September 2026. Selected candidates will be deployed at various tourist destinations across Kerala.

5. Selection Procedure

  • Shortlisting is done district-wise, based on the percentage of marks obtained in the SSLC/equivalent qualifying examination, subject to eligibility and document verification.
  • Final selection is based on performance in an interview/proficiency assessment conducted by the Directorate of Tourism.
  • Merit percentage is calculated as: Marks Obtained ÷ Maximum Marks × 100, system-calculated and verified against original documents.
  • Local residents get preference as a tie-breaker among candidates with the same SSLC percentage (subject to valid residence proof); if still tied, the older candidate (by date of birth) ranks higher.

6. Terms of Engagement

  • Daily wage of ₹810/- per day, payable based on actual attendance/days engaged, subject to applicable deductions/rules.
  • The engagement is purely temporary for one year and does not confer any right to regular appointment, permanent employment, continuation, renewal or absorption in the Directorate of Tourism, CMD or Government service.
  • Applicants must be physically fit; a medical fitness certificate/examination may be required before engagement.
  • Candidates must be willing to serve anywhere in the state as directed, since the Directorate of Tourism/CMD reserves the right to deploy or redeploy selected candidates to any tourism destination in any district.
