  • Written Test: 80 Multiple Choice Questions, 90 minutes, based purely on the curriculum of the prescribed educational qualification.
  • Marking: +1 for correct answer, −0.33 for wrong answer.
  • Passing marks: 32/80 for UR category; 24/80 for reserved categories (where the post is reserved).
  • Skill Test: 100 marks, GO/NO-GO basis, minimum 50/100 to qualify (40/100 for reserved categories where applicable); marks not counted for final selection. Shortlisting ratio for Skill Test is 1:5 (minimum 10 candidates per post).

  • Written Test: 100 Multiple Choice Questions, 120 minutes, covering cooking & kitchen equipment knowledge, General Knowledge, General English & Arithmetic (SSLC/Matriculation level).

Preliminary Medical Examination (PME) Certificate (Annexure A format), issued by a Government Medical Officer (Allopathy) not below the rank of Assistant Civil Surgeon, valid for 6 months, must be uploaded with the online application and produced at the Skill Test. Only candidates meeting the prescribed Physical Fitness Standards and holding a valid PME certificate will be called for the Skill Test.

Dummy weight: 60 kg for men, 50 kg for women/transgender. Shoes with spikes are not allowed for running events. 3 attempts are allowed for Long Jump only (best of 3 counted); 1 attempt for all other events. Candidates shortlisted for the Skill Test (post PME) are called in a 1:50 ratio. Qualifying in every PET event is mandatory — failing any event disqualifies the candidate from further events. Those who clear PET must also clear a Detailed Medical Examination before final empanelment by Written Test rank. Selected Fireman ‘A’ candidates must mandatorily stay in Essential Staff Quarters, IPRC.

10. Refund of Application Fee

  • Refund is granted only to candidates who appear in the Written Test.
  • For post codes 60–62: Female / SC / ST / Ex-Servicemen / PwBD candidates get a full refund; other candidates get Rs.500 refunded (minus bank charges) after appearing in the Written Test.
  • For post codes 63–68 & 70–71: Female / SC / ST / Ex-Servicemen / PwBD candidates get a full refund; other candidates get Rs.400 refunded (minus bank charges) after appearing in the Written Test.
  • No refund is given in any other scenario. Correct bank details (Account Holder Name, Account No., Bank, Branch, IFSC) and a scanned bank passbook front page must be furnished/uploaded for refund purposes.

13. General Instructions

  • Only Indian Nationals are eligible to apply.
  • Posts are temporary in nature but likely to continue indefinitely.
  • Candidates currently employed in Central/State Government, PSUs, Autonomous Bodies, or private organisations under direct government control must submit a “No Objection Certificate” from their employer at the time of the Skill Test — failing which they will not be permitted to appear for the Skill Test and Travelling Allowance will not be paid.
  • Initial posting will be at IPRC, Mahendragiri; selected candidates are liable to be posted at any ISRO/Department of Space centre in India.
  • Candidates called for the Skill Test will be reimbursed second-class train fare (shortest route) from the city stated in the application to the Skill Test venue; no TA is paid for the Written Test.
  • Canvassing in any form leads to disqualification.
  • Any addendum/corrigendum will be published only on the IPRC website — candidates should check it regularly.
  • Rounding off of marks is not permitted during selection.
  • Selected candidates may have to join immediately upon being found medically fit.
  • IPRC reserves the right not to fill any of the posts.
  • Candidates applying for more than one post must submit separate applications and pay the fee separately for each.
  • In case of any dispute over the Hindi version of this notification, the English version prevails.
