5. Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit

The applicant should not exceed 64 years as on 30/09/2026. The maximum age at the time of appointment on contract should not be more than 64 years, subject to good health.

Educational Qualification

  • A graduate degree from a recognised University. Preference shall be given to candidates having a post-graduate degree in Agriculture, Veterinary Science, Sociology, Psychology and Social Work.
  • Should be well conversant with the local language.
  • Should possess a flair for teaching and computer knowledge.
  • Counsellors should have sound knowledge of banking, insurance, investment, pension, law, finance, and requisite communication and team-building skills.

  • To be eligible for HA, the camp should be conducted away from the FLC Centre and no vehicle facility should have been availed from LDM/RO.
  • The entire district will be the jurisdiction of the FLC for conducting camps/meetings.
  • No other allowances/reimbursement of expenses will be admissible.
  • Monthly remuneration is released after verification of the monthly visit diary of Financial Literacy Camps. For service of less than one month, payment is made on a pro-rata basis.
  • Statutory tax deductions will be made as applicable.

7. Key Responsibilities

  • Carry on day-to-day activities of FLCs as per RBI guidelines.
  • Maintain an arm’s length relationship with the Author Banks.
  • Not give the impression that the counselling centres are part of the bank, and not promote the Bank’s products.
  • Not give the impression that the counselling centres are recovery or marketing agents of the bank.
  • Provide counselling services to all except wilful defaulters.
  • Impart financial literacy through simple messages like why to save, why save with banks, why borrow from banks, etc.
  • Provide counselling and debt management services free of cost to customers.
  • Provide financial literacy activities to trainees of RSETIs for skill development and capacity building.
  • Not get involved in recovering and distributing money.
  • Assist and guide distressed individual borrowers and ensure that mis-selling of financial products does not take place.
  • Conduct Financial Literacy Camps on digital banking with the latest digital banking products.
  • Maintain a register of details such as name, gender, age, profession, contact details, banked/unbanked status and services availed.
  • Arrange gram sabhas / awareness camps in rural areas at regular intervals.
  • Submit a tentative quarterly visit schedule to the LDM.
  • Impart knowledge on Government of India schemes like PMJDY, APY, PMSBY, PMJJBY, other social security schemes and digital banking.
  • Other responsibilities as may be deemed fit from time to time.

8. Terms of Appointment

  • Engagement will be on a contractual basis for a period not exceeding one year. Renewal may be extended by the RO with approval from the ZO, based on satisfactory performance and subject to annual review.
  • The engagement is purely temporary and does not vest any right to claim regular or continued contractual appointment.
  • Either party may terminate the contract by giving due notice: the counsellor must serve at least 3 months’ notice; the Bank will give one month’s notice.
  • The counsellor will report to the concerned Lead District Manager / RSETI Director / Regional Office (for non-lead districts) and submit a monthly report to the Zonal Manager (copy to RO).
  • The Zonal Manager is the competent authority for renewal of the contract.

Leave Entitlement
