Bank of India (BOI) has invited online applications for recruitment of Specialist Officers in various IT and other specialist streams, from Scale I (Junior Management Grade) up to Scale IV (Senior Management Grade), under Project No. 2026-27/02, Notice dated 01 August 2026. Total vacancies: 205 posts.

A candidate who previously held a similar post in Bank of India is not eligible to apply. Candidates may apply for only one post; the fee for any additional/duplicate registration is forfeited. There is no reservation for Ex-Servicemen in the Officers’ cadre.

7. Selection Process

Selection stages: eligibility scrutiny → Online ExaminationInterview (the Bank may also select through Interview alone, without an online exam, at its discretion).

Both tests together carry a composite duration of 100 minutes. Minimum qualifying marks: 35% for General/EWS candidates, with a 5% relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates. One-fourth mark is deducted for each wrong answer; there is no penalty for unattempted questions.

Interview: maximum 100 marks; qualifying marks 50% for General/EWS and 45% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates. Candidates are called for interview in a ratio of approximately 1:3 against vacancies (subject to change by the Bank). Where both online exam and interview are held, the final weightage is 60% Online Exam : 40% Interview. In case of a tie, candidates with higher online exam marks rank higher; if still tied, the older candidate (by date of birth) ranks higher.

Candidates currently serving in Government/PSU/Nationalised Banks must produce a No Objection Certificate (NOC) at the time of interview, failing which their candidature will not be considered. Selected officers must be ready to work anywhere in India, as the Bank reserves the right to post/transfer them across the country. For EWS candidates, family gross annual income must be below ₹8.00 lakh (based on FY 2025-26 income), with specified asset exclusions. OBC (non-creamy layer) certificates must be issued on or after 01 April 2026.

Is there a security deposit requirement?

Yes. Selected officers must pay a refundable security deposit of ₹1,00,000 (JMGS-I), ₹2,00,000 (MMGS-II) or ₹3,00,000 (MMGS-III and above), refunded after 3 years of satisfactory service.
