4. Eligibility Criteria

4.1 Age Limit

Minimum 23 years; Maximum 30 years, as on 01.09.2026 — i.e. a candidate must have been born not earlier than 02.09.1996 and not later than 01.09.2003 (both dates inclusive).

4.2 Educational Qualification

A candidate must hold any ONE of the following:

(i) Master’s degree from a recognized university in Hindi with English as a major or elective subject at Graduation.
OR
(ii) Master’s degree from a recognized university in English with Hindi as a major or elective subject at Graduation.
OR
(iii) Master’s degree from a recognized university in any subject other than Hindi or English, with Hindi as a major or elective subject and English as medium of examination at degree level.

(iv) Master’s degree from a recognized university in any subject other than Hindi or English, with English as a major or elective subject and Hindi as medium of examination at degree level.

4.3 Minimum Post Qualification Work Experience

One year of experience in translation work from English to Hindi and vice-versa of various reports/documents/letters in a bank/financial institution is desirable. Competency in operating a computer is a must — the candidate will be required to type/create translated text documents on his/her own in MS Word & Excel in Hindi & English. Exposure/experience related to development of AI-based tools for translation would be an added qualification.

4.4 Other Eligibility Criteria

(i) The candidate’s integrity should not have been doubtful during his/her service/career.
(ii) No punishment/penalty should have been inflicted on him/her during his/her service/career.
(iii) Cases of CBI or other law enforcement agencies should not be pending against him/her.
(iv) Good knowledge of operating computers is necessary, especially MS Office.

5. Job Description & Responsibilities

The job requires translation of confidential examination questions in Hindi/English language and development of Objective type/Descriptive tests to test proficiency in Hindi language for various posts. Competency in operating computers is a must. The above-mentioned job responsibilities are only indicative and not exhaustive — roles/job/KRAs in addition to the above mentioned may be assigned by the Institute from time to time.

7. Service Agreement Bond

At the time of joining, the selected candidate joining IBPS as Hindi Officer in Grade ‘E’ is required to execute a Service Bond of ₹2 lakhs (Rupees Two lakhs only). The candidate must serve a minimum period of 3 years in IBPS from the date of joining, or else pay ₹2 lakhs to IBPS towards the Service Bond. This service bond period may get extended by the number of loss of pay (LOP) days.

8. Test Structure (Online Examination)

Source: PDF, Page 4IBPS reserves the right to modify the structure of the examination, which will be intimated through its website. There is a penalty for wrong answers marked in the Objective Tests — for each question with a wrong answer, one-fourth (0.25) of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty. If a question is left blank, there is no penalty. Each candidate must obtain a minimum score in each test as well as sufficiently high overall scores to be shortlisted for further selection; cut-offs will be decided by IBPS depending on the number of vacancies available, and the decision of IBPS in shortlisting shall be final.

11. How to Apply

Candidates can apply online only — no other mode of application will be accepted. Steps to apply:

1. Visit the official IBPS website www.ibps.in and click on “CLICK HERE TO APPLY ONLINE”.
2. Click on “CLICK HERE FOR NEW REGISTRATION” and enter basic information; note the system-generated Provisional Registration Number and Password (also sent via Email & SMS).
3. Upload the required documents: Photograph, Signature, Left Thumb Impression, a hand-written declaration, Brief resume (PDF), SSC/SSLC/10th Standard or Equivalent Certificate, and documents in support of identity and eligibility, as per the specifications in Annexure II.
4. Use the “SAVE AND NEXT” facility to verify details before final submission — no change is permitted after clicking “COMPLETE REGISTRATION”.
5. Pay the application fee/intimation charges via the Online mode (Debit/Credit Card, Internet Banking, IMPS, Cash Card/Mobile Wallet, UPI).
6. On successful payment, an e-receipt will be generated — take a printout of the e-receipt and the online application form for your own record.

12. Documents Required at the Time of Selection Process

The following documents (originals plus self-attested photocopies) must be produced at the time of the Selection process, failing which the candidate may not be permitted to appear: printout of the valid Call Letter; printout of the online application form; proof of Date of Birth (Birth Certificate or SSLC/Std. X Certificate with DOB/Leaving Certificate); Photo Identity Proof (PAN Card/Passport/Driving Licence/Voter’s Card/Bank Passbook with photograph/Aadhaar/E-Aadhaar with photograph/Employee ID/Bar Council ID, etc. — Ration Card and Learner’s Driving Licence are NOT accepted); Address Proof (Electricity Bill/Passport/Property Agreement/Telephone bill/Photo Passbook of a running bank account); mark sheets/certificates for educational qualifications; a “No Objection Certificate” (for candidates serving in Government/quasi-govt./PSU/Nationalised Banks); experience certificates, if claiming experience; latest payslip copy, if any; and appointment/promotion/relieving letter copies, if any.

13. Identity Verification & Examination Instructions

At the examination hall and at the time of the selection process including interview, candidates must produce the call letter along with a photocopy of a valid photo identity proof bearing exactly the same name as on the call letter. Ration Card and Learner’s Driving Licence will not be accepted as valid ID proof. IBPS may capture Biometric data (right thumb impression) and/or IRIS scan for verification at various stages — decisions of the verification authority on match/mismatch are final and binding. Items such as stationery, communication devices (mobile phones, Bluetooth, earphones), watches, ornaments, metallic items, and eatables/water bottles (opened or packed) are NOT allowed inside the examination centre; any infringement may lead to cancellation of candidature and disciplinary action, including a ban from future examinations and police complaints.

14. Selection Process Details

Scrutiny of applications is based on the minimum eligibility criteria published in the advertisement. Shortlisted candidates from the scrutiny and Online Examination will be called for the further process of selection (Skill Test & Item Writing Exercise, Group Exercises and Personal Interview) to be conducted at IBPS, Mumbai; the date and time will be informed via the call letter. Selection will be made by a committee and such selection will be final. Based on overall performance, only provisionally selected candidates will be informed by email/letter at a later date, and originals of eligibility documents must be produced at the time of joining.

15. General Instructions & Terms

For initial appointment, there is a probation period of 1 year from the date of joining (extendable at the Institute’s discretion). Any further announcements/addendum/corrigendum will only be published on the Institute’s website www.ibps.in — no separate advertisement will be issued. Any resulting dispute arising out of this advertisement or the recruitment process shall be subject to the sole jurisdiction of the Courts situated at Mumbai. Candidates who have defaulted in repayment under any lending arrangement with Banks/NBFCs/Financial Institutions (including credit card dues) and have not regularized/repaid the outstanding amount till the date of issuance of the offer of appointment shall not be eligible for appointment. No person shall be eligible for appointment who has previously been dismissed or removed from service of the Institute, a State/Central Government department, local authority, PSU, or autonomous corporation; ex-employees of the Institute who have resigned are also not eligible for reappointment. Provisionally selected applicants presently in employment will be required to produce an unconditional, clear and valid discharge/relieving certificate from their present employer before joining.
