6. Selection Process
- Stage-I: Computer Based Exam – 100 questions, 100 marks, 1 hour, bilingual, no negative marking. Passing marks: 40 (UR/EWS/OBC), 35 (SC/ST).
- Stage-II: Physical Fitness Test, Assessment & Adaptability Test, Document Verification and Recruitment Medical (all qualifying).
- Stage-III: Document verification and pre-enrolment medicals at INS Chilka.
- Stage-IV: Verification of original documents with Boards/Universities.
- Final merit is based on Stage-I marks.

7. Physical & Medical Standards
- Minimum height: 157 cm (male), 152 cm (female); relaxation for NE states, Garhwal, Kumaon, Gorkhas (5 cm) and Ladakh, Lakshadweep, A&N (2 cm).
- Chest (male): minimum 77 cm with 5 cm expansion.
- Vision: GD 6/6 & 6/9; DB 6/36; Yantrik 6/24; spectacle users not eligible for GD.
- Permanent tattoos allowed only on inner forearm and back of hand.

- Navik (GD), Navik (DB), Hygienist-I: Basic pay ₹21,700 (Level-3) + DA and allowances.
- Yantrik: Basic pay ₹29,200 (Level-5) + Yantrik pay ₹6,200 + DA and allowances.
- Free ration, clothing and medical care for self and family; 45 days EL + 8 days CL; NPS/UPS pension; ₹75 lakh insurance cover.
- Promotion up to Pradhan Adhikari / Pradhan Sahayak Engineer, and to Officer cadre on merit.
