1. Overview

The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC), Lucknow has released Advertisement No. 19-Pariksha/2026 for the Main Examination of Avar Abhiyanta (Junior Engineer, Agriculture) — PET-2025/19, under the control of the Directorate of Agriculture, Uttar Pradesh. A total of 134 posts of Avar Abhiyanta will be filled through this recruitment. Only those candidates who appeared in the Preliminary Eligibility Test 2025 (PET-2025) and hold a valid PET-2025 score card are eligible to apply for this Main Examination. Shortlisting for the Main Exam is done purely on the basis of category-wise merit of the normalised PET-2025 score.

4. Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

(1) High School examination of the Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad, Uttar Pradesh, or an equivalent examination recognised by the Government; and (2) A three-year Diploma in Agricultural Engineering from the Prabidhik Shiksha Parishad, Uttar Pradesh, or an equivalent qualification recognised by the Government and approved by AICTE.

Age Limit

A candidate must have attained the age of 18 years and must not have attained the age of 40 years on 1st July of the calendar year in which the vacancies for direct recruitment are notified, with age relaxation admissible to candidates of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and other reserved categories as per applicable Uttar Pradesh Government rules.

5. Application Fee

Dependents of Freedom Fighters, Ex-Servicemen, Women, Persons with Disabilities and Outstanding Sportspersons pay fee as per their original (unreserved/reserved) category. Fee is to be paid online via Credit Card/Debit Card/Net Banking/UPI or SBI e-Challan.

6. Selection Process / Exam Pattern

Shortlisting of candidates for the Main Examination is done on the basis of category-wise merit of the normalised PET-2025 score (up to 15 times the advertised vacancies per category, up to the final normalised cut-off score, taken to two decimal places). The Main Examination itself will have one written paper as follows:

The paper will be of objective (multiple-choice) type, of 2 hours (120 minutes) duration, with each question carrying 1 mark.

7. How to Apply

1. Visit the “Live Advertisement Segment” on the upsssc.gov.in homepage and open Advertisement No. 19-Pariksha/2026.
2. Log in using your PET-2025 registration number, verified through an OTP sent to your registered mobile number/email.
3. Your personal details, category, EWS and horizontal reservation details, date of birth, gender, marital status, contact details etc. filled at the time of PET-2025 will be auto-displayed.
4. Fill in the mandatory educational qualification details as required for this advertisement, including board/institution name, year of passing, certificate/roll number and date of issue.
5. Review your photo and signature (uploaded at PET-2025 stage; these cannot be changed) and read and accept the declaration.
6. Enter the verification code and submit; an application number will be generated. Pay the requisite fee online through Credit Card/Debit Card/Net Banking/UPI or SBI e-Challan.
7. After successful fee payment/reconciliation, download and take a printout of the submitted application form.

Permissible corrections to the submitted application can be made up to 14-10-2026, after which no correction request will be entertained.

8. Important Instructions

• Candidates belonging to a reserved category of Uttar Pradesh must indicate their category correctly in the application; where more than one reservation applies, only the more beneficial one will be admissible.
• Candidates who are not original residents of Uttar Pradesh are not entitled to the benefit of reservation and will be treated as Unreserved category candidates.
• Only the last application submitted (in case of multiple submissions) will be accepted; all other applications will be rejected.
• Providing incorrect information, or non-fulfilment of the prescribed eligibility/qualification by the last date, will lead to rejection of candidature; the Commission may also debar such candidates from this and future examinations/selections.
• Married male candidates with more than one living wife, and women married to such men, are not eligible unless specifically exempted by the Governor.
• No personal correspondence will be entertained by the Commission; all information relating to the examination will be published on the official website upsssc.gov.in only.
