7. Selection Process

Selection is made through a written Main Examination. Since this advertisement covers only the Main Exam stage, shortlisting of candidates for the Main Exam is done based on their normalized score in the Preliminary Eligibility Test 2025 (PET-2025) — category-wise, 15 times the number of advertised vacancies (up to the final cut-off score, normalized to 2 decimal places, including all tied candidates) will be shortlisted for the written exam. If the exam is conducted in more than one shift/day, scores will be normalized as per the procedure in Advisory No. 42/05/Vigyan(11)/2019 dated 22 May 2019.

8. How to Apply

  1. Only candidates who registered for and appeared in PET-2025, and hold a valid UPSSSC PET-2025 score card, are eligible to apply.
  2. Visit the UPSSSC website, go to the “Live Advertisement” segment on the homepage and open Advt. No. 20-Exam/2026.
  3. Log in using your PET-2025 Registration Number and the OTP sent to your PET-2025 registered mobile number/email.
  4. Your personal details (name, parents’ name, UP domicile status, category, EWS, horizontal reservation, date of birth, gender, marital status, mobile number, email, etc.) recorded at the time of PET-2025 will be auto-filled.
  5. Select the post(s), Computer Operator Grade-A and/or Assistant Computer Operator, you wish to apply for. Posts not selected will not be considered.
  6. Confirm (Yes/No) that you hold the mandatory educational and other qualifications required for the selected post(s).
  7. Fill in other details such as preferential qualification (Territorial Army/NCC ‘B’), and read and accept the declaration.
  8. Pay the requisite fee online via Credit Card/Debit Card/Net Banking/UPI, or through an SBI e-Challan.
  9. The application is submitted automatically only after successful fee payment/reconciliation. Download and print your application form for your records.
  10. If fee reconciliation is not completed by 28-09-2026, it must be completed within 7 days, i.e. by 05-10-2026, failing which the application will not be considered.

10. General Instructions / Terms

  • All reserved-category candidates from Uttar Pradesh must clearly mention their category in the application.
  • A candidate eligible for more than one reservation category can avail only one, whichever is more beneficial.
  • Candidates who are not original residents of Uttar Pradesh are not entitled to any reservation benefit and will be treated as Unreserved.
  • Ex-servicemen who have retired from service by 29-09-2026 (the application deadline) get reservation under the UP Public Services (Reservation for Physically Handicapped, Dependants of Freedom Fighters and Ex-servicemen) Act, 1993.
  • EWS reservation of 10% is available as per the UP Public Services (Reservation for Economically Weaker Sections) Act, 2020, subject to the certificate conditions above.
  • Only one final application per candidate is accepted; if multiple applications are submitted, only the last submitted one is considered valid, and all others are rejected.
  • Corrections to the submitted application are allowed only until 05-10-2026; no correction request will be entertained after this date, in any circumstance.
  • Male candidates having more than one living wife, or women who married such a man, are not eligible unless specifically exempted by the Governor.

Malpractice warning: Copying/cheating in the examination hall, indiscipline, misbehaviour, or other objectionable conduct will lead to cancellation of candidature and can result in debarment from this exam as well as all future UPSSSC exams/selections — the Commission’s decision on this is final. The provisions of the Uttar Pradesh Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024 (dated 06 August 2024) apply to this exam. Concealing material facts, a pending criminal case, having more than one living spouse, submitting false information, or seeking recommendation for selection can also lead to cancellation of candidature and debarment.
